Dr. Shilpi Joshi

Dr. Shilpi Joshi, DMD, BDS, FICD, FPFA, was recently honored with the Lucy Hobbs Project Humanitarian Award (2026, Humanitarian Category), which recognizes exceptional contributions to advancing oral health and improving access to care for underserved populations. This award highlights work that extends beyond clinical practice, encompassing mentorship of dental students, leadership in community outreach, and participation in public health research initiatives.

Dr. Joshi is an Adjunct Faculty member at the Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine and Associate Dentist at East Boston NeighborHealth Center. “When a patient sits in my chair, they place complete trust in me, believing I will provide the best possible care,” she says. “I see this as a profound responsibility—one that reminds me that being human must come first, even before being a dentist.”

Dr. Joshi’s humanitarian work embodies the values of PFA., and we are delighted to share her inspiring story, recently featured in Incisal Edge Magazine.
