Yankee Dental Congress!

Dear Fellows,

It’s that time of year again – getting ready for Yankee Dental Congress! I hope all of you have had a healthy and productive year! I’m looking forward to seeing you at our Annual Breakfast meeting to honor and support those who have given so much to the dental profession and the public.

I am very pleased to announce that Athena “Tina” Pappas, DMD, has been selected as the recipient of this year’s Distinguished Service Award. Dr. Pappas is internationally renowned for her clinical and academic research in Sjogren’s syndrome and dry mouth conditions. She has also been a frequent speaker here at Yankee.

The PFA Foundation awarded 43 grants this year totaling $302,000 to support access to care initiatives across the globe. The Muchila access project from Massachusetts was among those funded. It also awards $1000 scholarships to deserving third year dental students. The following were recipients in 2023:

Brianna Sammon, Tufts University
Hannah Kilbride, Boston University
Joseph Montesano, Harvard University

Also, at our breakfast we will be installing our new Fellows:
Dr. Michael Mayr
Dr. Frank Schiano
Dr. Albert Sandler

In addition, we will welcome Dr’s :Karin Arsenault, Arifa Bakerywala, and Dylan Weber who were installed in Orlando at the national meeting.
