Dr. Castagna received his DDS in 1981 from the University of Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry, San Francisco. From graduation to 1989, he was in full-time private practice in South San Francisco and a part-time Pacific Faculty member. In 1990 he transitioned to full-time dental education at Pacific acquiring the rank of Assistant Clinical Professor in Fixed Prosthodontics and Removable Prosthodontics. His current rank is Associate Professor Department of Preventative and Restorative Dentistry. He has authored numerous publications and presented at various organization’s meetings. A notable achievement in 1994 was the Hillenbrand Fellowship in Dental Administration by Oral Health America. He spent a year with the American Dental Association managing various projects at the Chicago headquarters. Currently, he holds Fellowships in the Pierre Fauchard Academy, American Collage of Dentists and International College of Dentists. In addition, he has held memberships and volunteer leadership positions at the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, American Dental Education Association, San Francisco Society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Society, the Dugoni Dental School and the Dugoni Alumni Association. He is PFA past President and current Treasurer plus Associated Editor of Dental Abstracts.
