A/Prof Tino Mercado is a recipient of the 2021 Australian Dental Association Service Medallion Award for his services to teaching, clinical research and ADA. Tino holds an Associate Professor position at the Otago University, New Zealand  and University of Queensland, Australia.  He is the president for the Australia and New Zealand Academy of Periodontists (ANZAP) for 2024-2026. He is a Periodontal examiner at the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (RACDS).  Tino is the founding president of the Filipino Australian Dental Association (FADA) and has been a recipient of the prestigious National and Health Medical Research Council Scholarship for his PhD degree. He is a Fellow of ITI, ICD and Pierre Fauchard.
