Dr. Jay Skolnick is originally from Long Island, New York. He attended Florida State University and following graduation, Washington University School of Dental Medicine in St. Louis. After earning his D.M.D. degree, Dr. Skolnick completed a Pediatric Specialty Residency at the Eastman Dental Center-University of Rochester in 1991.

Dr. Skolnick is a Board-Certified Diplomat of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. He is the past-president of the Monroe County Dental Society and has served as president of the Seventh District Dental Society. As an attending volunteer dentist on the staff at Rochester General Hospital, he enjoys teaching pediatric dentistry to the dental residents. He is currently an adjunct faculty member and supervising dentist at the Monroe Community College Dental Studies Department. He has been recognized by his peers and was named a Fellow of the Pierre-Fauchard Academy in 2005, a Fellow of the American College of Dentists in 2011 and a Fellow of the International College of Dentists in 2014.

Dr. Skolnick has been married for 37 years to his wonderful wife Chris and has two sons Max and Alex. With his family, he enjoys travelling and the outdoors. He is currently serving as the Pierre Fauchard Academy Trustee for the Northeast Region-US. In addition, he is on the Finance Committee with the Finger Lakes Group Civil Air Patrol (Lt. col. US Air Force Auxiliary) and is Secretary of his Masonic Lodge along with other community service-related activities.
